I started out with the thought of texture - means guy card. So I went through my sampler and picked a bunch I haven't ever used or haven't used in a long time.

The beige one on the left is a Lava paper and it's very thick and has lots of craters in it. The face is a chiyogami paper with a design I love - Samurai (totally masculine), the burnt orange one on the right is a leatherette paper with a nice texture to it. The background paper is a Textura "Bazzill Bling" type cardstock. Has a nice pearlescent sheen to it. The main card is a beige parchment cardstock from the Recollections "Spice Market" package, love this set. The dark brown cardstock under each stripe is from the same collection.

The stripe on the left I wrapped with two colors of thin wire, a copper and a green. Then threaded these fabulous flat beads I found in a Dollar store last summer.

The quote (Quietfire Design), was stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia on a gold parchment paper.

The Asian symbol for Happy Birthday was cut with my Cricut on a speckled brown/black paper. But I found it didn't stand out enough, so I edged it with a black marker, then adhered it to the card. Wrote in the words below it with a Micron pen.

When I was doing the card, I was using a very small image of the sketch and didn't notice the right hand stripe went under the rectangle above it. C'est la vie.
