I started by making a template of the larger frame, then sponging with Distress (Mustard Seed & Rusty Hinge) on white cardstock to get a nice orangey tone. Using the mask I stamped the word background stamp (Local King Rubber "Words 1") with Versafine Black Onyx. Made another template to cover my frame so I could sponge the center portion (Mustard Seed & Spiced Marmalade). Then used a stencil (Crafter's Workshop "Mini Flower Frenzy") and the Marmalade. Rubber stamped the sentiments (Quietfire Design) with the black. Cut out this frame piece and mounted it to a white piece that I ran through the Cuttlebug with a Sizzix folder (Damask #656151). Really pretty with flourishes and swirls in it. Then mounted this to a turquoise textured cardstock and then edge to edge on my main white card. Die cut the frames from chipboard using my Spellbinder's square nesties. Didn't cut through but cut through enough to give me a nice cutting reference. I then painted the with Tim's Crackle paint (Broken China, Mustard Seed & Dried Marigold). When dry sponged a bit of Walnut Stain, inked them with Perfect Medium and clear embossed them. Added some Holographic sticker circles in the blue center frame, some copper glitter in the Mustard center and a beautiful white pearlized button which I added an yellow toned rhinestone in the marigold center frame. Put some amber half pearls on the edges of two of the frames. Punched out a bunch of baby butterflies (really teensy) from some pinky red paper I had lying around. Punched out the yellowish flower from some other decorated paper I had in my stash using a Marvy 6 petal flower & a Punch Bunch daisy flower. Stacked them and added this really tiny button I got as a gift from the CRAFT challenge. |
