ID: MC June - 4 Cups Neg card
Created: June 27, 2010 I was playing with my Cricut and came across this 4 cup image which I really liked. Then I started putting elements of some of the challenges together and this is the result. Love it!!

After cutting the cups with my Cricut, I placed a piece of wide Sookwang tape over the negative portion still on my mat. PS - I didn't press the tape down. I started lifting the negative piece from my mat, pressing down, in that area, when a negative piece wasn't lifting, up until the whole thing came away. Then started brushing on Perfect Pearls in 2 shades per cup. Love the way they turned out. They have a beautiful sheen to them in real life. Used Derwent Inktense watercolor pencil for the background in a deep purple (almost brownish shade), keeping the intensity near the cup area and washing it out as it got to the edges of the cardstock. Trimmed it down to size. What I love about Intense pencils, is their intensity and there permanence, once dry they can't be reactivated like regular watercolors. The background was first stamped with Perfect Medium and clear embossed, using a Crackle Rollagraph wheel. Then sponged with distress stamp pads (Shabby Shutters, Bundled Sage and Forest Moss), misted with water and dried. Crackle removed with an iron between clean sheets of newsprint. |
The cups were adhered to the background with some double sided tape, then machine stitched around the edges with a zig zag stitch and pale pink thread. The leafy branch was adhered. |

I die cut Shrink Plastic with Spellbinder's Label 13, then sanded it. The quote (Quietfire Design) was stamped using Versafine Black Onyx, baked and attached to the brown satin ribbon with copper brads, then onto the card.
