ID: MC July - Digi - Umbrella Xmas card
Created: July 18, 2010 I won another digi image, this one from Shelly's Images and I picked Island Life. Really loved the umbrella and chair, and with permission, separated it from the whole. So I thought I would use them to create this Xmas card. Can you believe that sky? I know I've seen ones like it on CSI Miami. Now I'm not sur3e whether this is morning or evening, but take your pick... Now as you can gather I'm on the beach, soaking up the sun and wishing a friend up in Canada where it's snowing and cold, very warm wishes for the holidays. BIG GRIN. I printed out the digi image, colored it with Prisma colors and cut out the elements. I stamped the holly leaves (Flourishes set # 69), colored them and cut them out with my Cricut, adhered them to my umbrella. I added Ritz micro fine glitter to the veins and Glossy Accents to the berries. The background was done wet on wet with ecoline inks in stripes to mimic the sand, sea, and sky. Added the big yellow sun. Added some colored pencil effects on the water and white Enamel Accents for the waves. I also but streaks of Perfect medium on the sand portion and embossed with Distress embossing powders Antique Linen and Old Paper. It really looks and feels like sand now. Added another holly leaf and bits of real shells at the foot of the umbrella with Golden's soft gel medium. Wrote in my words with a Micron pen and stamped the word "Christmas" (Quietfire Design) with the Versafine Black Onyx. Words: "Sending warm wishes from afar. Merry Christmas" Layered this onto a bright red cardstock, then onto a dark green card. |
