Created: August 23, 2010 I had sponged color onto a small piece of linen cardstock and loved it so much, I wanted to make another one. Can't find the first piece though. Then I just kept adding elements...

As I mentioned above, I started with a piece of linen cardstock run through the Cuttlebug with the Labels large die, then embossed, then color sponged on - distress Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet, Broken China, Dusky Concord. The under layer was done with the Dusky Concord and Chipped Sapphire, misted and dried. They're attached separately at the end. The flower is made completely with circles, 2 sizes. The petals are squeezed at the base and glued to shape. Then all the petals are adhered tot he yellow circle, then a red 1/4 punch circle is the center. I dotted the yellow with a Quickie Glue Pen and added purple Ritz Micro Fine Glitter. The swirly stem are drop out pieces from EK Success Slim border punch Flower & Flourish. The charm was attached with a piece of 2ply purple waxed linen thread. The words Happy Birthday in gold are one of my Calligraphic Peel off word sentiments on the Elizabeth Craft Design label. The main card was stamped with the large Flourish (Quietfire Design) with Versafine Imperial Purple and clear embossed. The next layer is a pink cardstock run through the Cuttlebug with the Sizzix Dots folder (the dots are larger than the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots), brayered the high points with perfect Medium and embossed with Espresso. A piece of pinky toned netting is added, the "Hugs" brad is attached and the brown with pink dot ribbon is added, then it's adhered to the main card, and stitched with a zig zag stitch with pink thread all around. The Labels under layer is adhered to the card. Then the purple punched ribbon strip is added. See tutorial on making punched ribbons HERE. I did them on white cardstock, colored with Versafine Imperial Purple, embossed with Pearl, then on alternating ovals, added Quickie Glue and purple micro fine glitter and a large half pearl on the small dots between the ovals. The under layer is a slightly larger punched ribbon, colored with Spun Sugar Distress pad and embossed with the Pearl. Both are adhered to the brown polka dot ribbon. Then the Linen piece is adhered. The buttons are 4 layers of cardstock die cut with a Sizzlets Friends & Flowers die set, then glued together, colored with Tombows in a deep pink and edged with purple. When dry, button holes punched, and Glossy Accents over the surface. Dried, then tied with a bow to the card. |
