ID: MC Apr - True Friend Ribbon
Flower card
Created: April 22, 2010 I found the instructions for this ribbon flower when I was uploading another card to a challenge blog. Looked really interesting, so tried it. Very easy to do and quite effective. You can find the instructions at the Butternut Sage blog. So after making it, I figured I should use it, so went looking at all the challenges and started piecing things together. Like the result, even though it's a bit frilly for me...

This is an overlapping fold card to mimic a lace frilled blouse. I used a turquoise'y value pack cardstock, scored and folded it and cut out the "V" neck. Punched out several pieces of the Double Loops border (Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page #42-60002) from a cream toned pearlized cardstock. Adhered them to the edges. Used my sewing machine to sew on the ruffled greyish ribbon along the edges. Rubber stamped the quote (Quietfire Design) with Distress Rusty Hinge. Added the pearl headed button brads, and adhered the ribbon flower. Wrote my sentiment "Happy Birthday" with a black pen, then went over it with a Quickie Glue pen and sprinkled Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter "Stardust". |

The bookmark/tag is sponged with distress Rusty Hinge on cream cardstock. Rubber stamped the oriental figure with Versafine Smokey Grey and clear embossed it, then colored it in with Prisma colors. Rubber stamped the Flourish stamp (the one never used before) with the Rusty Hinge, clear embossed them. On the back I sponged a lot of the Rusty Hinge, then misted and sprinkled with water. Dried it then rubber stamped the quotes (Quietfire Design "Friendship" Quote marks set.) with Versafine Blue Lagoon and clear embossed them. Inserted an aqua eyelet, strong a piece of string through it and tied a bunch of fibers/ribbons. |
