ID: MC Apr - Tattered Flower -
Happy Birthday card
Created: April 0, 2010
Well I got a bunch of Tim Holtz Sizzix dies today and had to use the Tattered
Flower # 656640 on this card. Then I combined a bunch of challenges and this is
the result. |

I started with another new purchase, Martha Stewart's Punch Around the Page Eyelet Lace punch #42-60013. When my square was punched out from white cardstock, I used it as a stencil first sponging Distress stamp pads Broken China & Forest Moss. Then I continued to color the punched out square. Punched out the top and bottom borders of the stencilled background with the Doily Lace. Stacked 8 pieces of Costco's magazine and die cut them with the Tattered Flower die. Glued them together at the center, then added this humungous brad through the flower and the punched out square, then put a very large turquoise colored faux rhinestone in the center. Fluffed up the flower. Adhered that layer to the stencilled layer off set. Adhered my ribbon to the card, then my stencilled floral element. Tied a knot in my ribbon and adhered that separately, then adhered the button, removing the shank. Colored some white cardstock with more Distress greens, misted with water to get a nice distress coloring, punched out the flourish (EK Success Flourish) and the teardrop leaves (Fiskars Squeeze punch set). Adhered them to the card placing the teardrops like leaves. Added veins on the leaves and lines on the stems with a brown Zig writer. Added half pearls in a saffronish yellow. Added faux stitching along two edges with the same marker. Final step was to rubber stamp the Happy Birthday (Quietfire Design) with Versafine Vintage Sepia and clear emboss it. |
