I started with the labels 8
Spellbinder's die and cut out a bunch of both folded and single
pieces, dry embossing and sponging Distress Peeled paint onto the
single pieces and misting with water. Then manipulating the layers
until I got what I wanted. Die cut, embossed colored and cut out the fern piece which is also Spellbinder's. Colored on the back as well. Attached it to one of the layers with a butterfly eyelet with a piece of mat board between to keep the fern raised for the other layers to fit under. The butterfly was red, so I colored it with a Krylon gold leafing pen. Cut out the butterfly, both the cut out and the blackout shadow below with my Cricut from some decorated paper I had made a while back. Solid layer is green and the top layer in blue with a shimmer on it from Perfect Pearls. Glued them together at the body and attached to the card with a blue mini brad, then added some mini rhinestones. |

I decided to leave all the fronts of the
cards the plain off white, otherwise it would have become too busy.
The insides are colored with Pan Pastels in a pastel blue and a
deeper blue then rubber stamped with portions of the quote (Quietfire Design
"And the day came...") with Versafine Blue Lagoon and clear embossed
it. Rubber stamped the little flowers and leaf sprigs (Rubber Stamp
Tapestry "Triple Floral Dragonfly" set) with the Lagoon and Distress
green. Added gold Peel Off butterflies (Elizabeth Craft Designs), then colored them in with Prisma colored pencils and a white to blend. Added some Ritz micro fine glitter (Sea green, Royal Blue & Ocean Spray) in the decorative circle of the butterflies using a Quickie Glue Pen. |

On the very inside I rubber stamped the large butterfly (Artful Stamper), with various Versafine stamp pads, masking each area, then clear embossing, then colored in with Prisma colors. Rubber stamped the Happy Birthday (Quietfire Design)
