Shaken not Stirred card
Created: April 18, 2010
You know how a thought or a smell brings memories to you. Well I love olives, and whenever I think or eat them, the first thing to come to mind is the James Bond movie - of course his doesn't have an olive in it...
It also covers a couple other
challenges. #49

So I saved the sketch, manipulated it and cut it out with my Cricut on white cardstock. Used a Cuttlebug embossing folder Forest Branches #37-1612, and a rubber mallet to emboss my card. I wanted a more distressed fade out, rather than a pure embossed image, and the easiest way to do that on this folder is with a hammer. Dribbled alcohol inks onto clear plastic in various shades of green. Dribbled more inks within the ink blobs until I got the look I was after. Adhered it to the back of my openings. Colored the drop out pieces of the olive with Distress stamp pad, Barn Door, misted with water, dried, then sponged Aged Mahogany around the edges. Clear embossed whatever was still wet. Adhered it to my clear plastic with Glossy Accents. Punched out mini holes and did an "X" stitch using 4 ply waxed linen thread "Dark Forest Green" (available from Quietfire Design). Cut out a second piece of white cardstock with the holes to layer behind my front and give a neat interior. As a final step, wrote in my words "Happy Birthday Where's the Party" with a Zig Writer in green. |
