This card is in the September 2010 Card Maker Magazine. The theme was Summer Thank You cards.

On clear plastic I dropped alcohol inks in various greens all over. In and around the greens I dropped some yellows and reds. Let dry a bit. Using the tip of the paint brush, I touched the surfaces with various colors to get smaller designs. Continued playing with adding colors in and around other drops and watched as the colors pushed each other away, forming glorious rings and spots. Set aside to dry completely. Then trim to approx 4” x 6” or depending on where you put your slits in the next step.

With SCAL software & my Cricut, I positioned some maple leaves in various sizes and directions, keeping them within a 4.25” x 6.25” area and leaving a spot vacant for my quote, then cut out my design using cream cardstock. Trimmed the cardstock down to size. Rubber stamped the quote (Quietfire Design) with Versafine black stamp pad and clear thermal embossed. With the c-thru ruler, I drew lines approx .25” away from the edges and jumping over any protruding stamping and cut outs. I Drew a second line to the inside of these lines just less than 1/5” w. Cut with an x-acto knife staying away from the intersecting lines of the four corners.

I placed double sided tape along the edges of the four sides. Centered and adhered my plastic piece. Added more tape and adhered to the yellowish cardstock. Trimmed this down leaving approx. 1/5” border all around. Then centered and adhered to main card.

Rubber stamped a few leaves in pleasing areas using the Versafine Moss Green and Toffee stamp pads.
