ID: Beeswax July 09 Sketch - Happy Birthday
Created: July 2, 2009 Beeswax on Rubber Stamp Chat has a challenge for July to use a sketch by Innovative Stamp Creations. Interesting layout. I needed to try a couple more things with the gilding, so that's where I started. I rubber stamped the flourish (Inkadinkado "Well Spring") using a black pigment stamp pad and embossing with Hematite. I used the LaDore adhesive and applied my gold leaf, then dry embossed it with just a pattern following the stamped images. Cut it out and adhered it to the cards when all the layers were put down. I decided to use one of my new Nestabilities Dies (Long Classic Scalloped Rectangle) and cut it from some metallic dark blue paper, I decided later on that it was too long so put it back in the die to cut a portion off. I love this vellum with the swirl pattern and really need to get more of it. |

I rubber stamped the
quote (Quietfire Design "You are never too old") using Versafine
"Majestic Blue" and clear embossing it. didn't clear emboss it the
first time and even after using my heat gun the ink was still
movable. Luckily it rubbed right off so I didn't have to waste a
piece. The white under layer is a beautiful pearlized white paper
which I ran through my Cuttlebug with the swirl pattern embossing
folder (twice to do the full length of the paper). Rounded the
corners with a small corner rounder. The decorative paper under the white is a background paper I made on glossy paper using Ecoline inks. It was just a dribble and splatter on wet paper. I then mounted all these onto a dark blue cardstock. Added one of my Happy Birthday calligraphic sentiment sold under the name of Elizabeth Craft Designs. |
