Booklet Card "Happy
Birthday My Friend" This is a folded envelope style booklet card. I made it using Stonehenge warm white cardstock starting off with an 8.5" x 11" piece of cardstock. The booklet is closed with a removable gold elastic ribbon with a heart charm. I'll be entering this card in the 2006 Calgary Stampede Contest |

There is a lot of detailing in this card. I wanted a Victorian theme, so I used white and off white lace, pearlized buttons, mini gold ric-rac surrounds the hearts.
|
The back of the card is plain except for all the colorful threads and beads from the tags. The
large flower on the front is an origami style folded flower. I
attached a swivel opener to hold the flower closed. I used thermal
embossing for the flower stem and to write the words "Happy
Birthday My Friend". The message
inside the flower is written with a purple Zig marker. |

I used vintage scrapbook paper to line the inside of the envelopes. The large Heart was made with a heavily embossed floral paper and trimmed with gold ricrac. The far right heart was made with a silky type paper, lined with a pink flower motif (you can see the paper with the flaps opened and the words "Just for You" thermal embossed onto a swirl patterned velum. I glued the outside edges and only sewed the fist fold using gold embroidery thread and tying it off with an amber bead. |
All the tags were made from Stonehenge warm white cardstock with lots of fibers and beads. All the words on the front were done with a brown Zig marker. 1st & 3rd tag: Both have a heart from the heavily embossed flower paper and trimmed with the gold ric-rac. 2nd tag: I used a vintage tone on tone scrapbook paper to cover both sides of this tag and added paper flowers, a couple of which I hand painted. 4th
tag: I used scrapbook paper that's printed in quarter sections to
cover both sides of this tag as well. One side is the yarn on fabric
and the other side is the button section. All Quotes:
