This will be a sample for a gilding class I'll be teaching in August and thought I'd make one that doesn't use "size" but uses everything else to adhere leaf. 

I started out with a purple cardstock. Added the borders "A" using 3mm Sookwang double sided tape (by Be Creative). Put on Red variegated leaf. Then did the abstract stroke "B" using a Zig 2 way glue stick, the very wide one approx 5/8" w and lay down my composition gold leaf. Used the Zig Quickie Glue Pen to draw in the line "C" which followed the outline of the abstract mark. Put copper leaf on that. Then used the Tsukineko Essential Liquid Glue pad and a Quietfire Design rubber stamp, item "D", and put silver leaf on that. Added a Peel Offs sticky shape butterfly "E" and put green variegated leaf on that and for the body section I put black variegated. Used the quickie glue pen again "F" to write the words "Thinking of You" and then put silver leaf.

 
Needless to say these pictures just don't do the gilding justice.
