ID: DT Dec/13 - Xmas Mitten Cutlery Holder
Created: December 1, 2013 Christmas is not a time I indulge in anymore except to buy myself gifts... BIG GRIN, but I thought it would be nice to veer from my usual and make something for a table setting... I drew out a large mitten, cut it out by hand and then embellished I'm using snowflake word stamp from Quietfire Design. Mitten cutting template HERE |
Fold a piece of white cardstock (11h" x at least 6"w) in half to get a size 5.5"h x 6'w. Place cutting template on top so that the bottom of the mitten lies along the fold line. Pencil in your mitten shape and cut out both layers at the same time. Place the embossing folder (Cuttlebug "Distressed Stripes") so that the edge is in line with the lower edge of the mitten cuff - emboss. PS you can use any linear type embossing folder to mimic the knitting detail. Ink the small and large "Snowflake Merry Xmas" stamps with Versafine Toffee and repeatedly stamp to cover the mitten, emboss with Queen's Gold embossing powder. Sponge with Distress "Tumbled Glass" then hit the high points and randomly over the mitten, direct to paper, with Stormy Sky. Put a small bead of glue right on the edge on the inside of the mitten and adhere both sides together to create the pocket. Fold napkin decoratively and insert with cutlery. Enjoy.
