I took a two day workshop with
Mike Gold in May 2013 called "Contemporary Scripts" All I can say is
interesting. This is not an easy thing for me to do. I've come to realize I
like rules... not that I follow them, but at least I have a starting point to
veer from. In mike's class we were dealing more towards the abstract, or trying
to. I'm glad I took the class because it gave me food for thought and a
different way of looking at things. I don't see me going towards that end of
calligraphy. I think if you are going to call something calligraphy, it should
be readable, maybe not easily, but if you look into it, you should find words.
