Ewan Clayton - Art Nouveau - Nov 14, 16 & 18, 2022 Created: November
14,
2022 I'm taking a ZOOM class with Ewan Clayton "Art Nouveau" with our Guild. I've always liked this style but it has so many variations it gets confusing...
|
Day 1: We were asked to trace various letter forms from our exemplars. I created a page with the various letters I saw and then created the text of the song by Simon & Garfunkel which I love... Used a Fudenesoke brush pen, copied it and colored in negative areas with colored pencils. |

Day 2: Art Nouveau - With
Malice On Geno Bond paper, Nikko G nib and Sumi ink wrote out the words and design elements. Shaded the letters and flowers with Prisma colored pencils. Using a Kuretake 2Way glue pen and Ritz "Ocean Spray" glitter to the dots. |
Day
3: Art Nouveau - Who Hates Speeding Tickets On HP 140# watercolor paper created a multi layered Geli print with various Holbien Gouache colors (Permanent Yellow, Opera, Pearl Copper, Pearl White, Permanent Violet & Burnt Umber). Used Bleed Proof White and a pointed nib for the lettering. |

3: Art Nouveau - Believe On HP 140# watercolor paper using a small embossing tool, impressed the design. Hit the high points with Distress mini pads "Picked Raspberry & "Broken China". I'm not happy with the "L" and am ambivalent about the "B"... c'est la vie. |
