Christine Ahmad's Class "Painting on Canvas"

Image: 30"w X 38"h

Created: February 22, 2009

I started out with the yellow/orange/reddish tones, did some stamping and stencilling on it and then left it. Then started working on the green portion which I was inspired with as I was progressing.

I used and unprimed canvas and Delta Ceramcoat & FolkArt craft paints to paint the background and used a lot of water to move colors around so they blended with each other.

Then I used several foam stamps and stencils with Metallic paints mostly FolkArt, Making Memories, and Lumiere. Some of the stamps I made myself using adhesive backed thin foam and punches or Sizzix dies, then stacking them together to make a thicker payer. I also ran some stencil plastic through my punch or with the Sizzix die, so I had a good variety of positive and negative shapes to work with.

The lettering for "Experiment" & "Magic" was done with rubber stamp letters and a couple hand drawn ones too.

The words "LifeBlood" & "Believe" were hand drawn with thick Micron and then colored in with Bic MarkIt pens and some Sharpies. The text for "believe" was done with a Micron pen as well. The words "art is my" was done with a Parallel pen and FW acrylic ink. There are some horizontal lines which were done with the border waste from sheet rubber stamps. Added some zap with a glue pen and Ultra Fine glitter on the "i"s
