Another of the exercises Renate asked me to do was try variations of which word to emphasize.

size: 6.5"w x 5.5"h 

This was my original take on the quote... Double loaded a flat edge brush with a yellow and a red watercolor for the word "every". Rest of the quote done with Sumi black and 2.4mm Parallel Pen. Still working on my straightness...

Renate suggested I try  using the same size pen and brushes but do it all with the Sumi except for the word "spot". I thought it was a bit too plain for me.

So this is the 3rd take... I like the larger word, but not the placement of the rest of the quote.

I think this one turned out the best. I did the "spot" word with a flat edge brush and two tones of watercolor. My lettering is  lot straighter too.
