Barbara Close - Trees Workshop - Calligrams & Sponges Day 4 |
Created: May 28, 2021 This class was spread out as 1 - 2hour class every week for 4 weeks. 4th weeks class was Calligrams and more sponging.

ID: Sponging - Ornamental Trees On Arches 90# HP watercolor paper. Masked off each tree, one at a time then using various watercolors and both a sea sponge and a basic rectangular sponge created my trees. Wrote in the words with a 2.4 Parallel pen and Sumi ink, then shadowed with a pointed pen and red paint.

To Be Free On Staples 110# white cardstock penciled in my tree and wrote the quotes using a 2.4Parallel pen and various brown Holbien gouache. Colored pencil sky and watercolor grassy area. Quote 1: To be free. Such a thing would be greater than all the magic and all the treasures in all the world. Robin Williams Quote 2: A tree lives by its roots. Change the roots and you change the tree. Change the trees and you change the forest. unknown |

ID: Practice - Calligrams & More Sponging On Arches Text Wove paper. I used a Zig Writer and a 2.4 Parallel pen for the calligrams. A regular sponge and a sea sponge with various watercolors.
