I took a ZOOM class with Barbara Close, December 6 hosted by Edmonton Calligraphy Society. Love her style. I turned my artwork into greeting cards.

All the artwork was done on Canson Mixed Media paper, then mounted on various colored cardstock.

ID: Festive Boxes - Happy Holidays
size: 4" x 5.5" top fold

This was supposed to be a box shape (square or rectangle...) but I thought boxes could be circular as well BIG GRIN.

Drew the circle, Wrote the words "Happy Holidays in a monoline then painted over the writing with various watercolors, added some Viva Glitter Liner "Holo Iridescent", cut out and adhered to my top folded card base which I dry embossed (Crafts Too - Poinsettia Frame) and hit the high points with Distress pads in pink and purple.

Wrote out the words "Happy Holidays on the card as well using Zebra Funwari Fude purple Brush Pen

size: 5"sq

I lightly penciled in my center box and with a wide flat brush loaded it with water and dusted Brusho Powder over it, first with yellow and then with the blue which came out a bit too much... Dried.

Repeatedly wrote the words "Thank You" with a Nikko G nib and Sumi ink in a script writing style. Adhered to a blue cardstock then onto my side folded yellow card base.

I cut up a sponge to 1"sq blocks and dipped into the mixing section of my watercolor palette, then sponged overtop of them. When dry used a black Elegant Writer Scroll tip pen. Adhered to a yellow base then a Core'Dinations green card stock then onto my white side folded card base.

size: 6.25"w x 4.25"h

I wet a square or rectangular shape with water then using a flat brush, then added some color here and there. Since I used a lot of water my boxes were still wet when I finished coloring them so blotted them with a paper towel giving a nice pastel look. Used a Juice Up pen to draw my letters and doodled within them.

Mounted to yellow cardstock then onto my blue top folded card base.
