ID: Wk 23 - Universal Shapes - Being A Square
Size: 9"w x 7"h

Interesting reading "Signs Of Life" by Angeles Arrien. I read a small excerpt onLine. Makes me wonder about my choices and the size and positioning of them...

I drew my shapes with a black Zig Writer on white 110# Staples cardstock. Wrote in my quotes in various monoline styles. I added red around the dots in the circle quote to show the cross over from one circle to the next. Then decided to color the center circle using a Pentel Color Brush... then said I needed some in the other two shapes...

Quotes: Being a square keeps you from going around in circles. J, Vernon McGee

Life is a full circle widening until it joins the circle of motions of the infinite. Anais Nin

Love is made up of 3 unconditional properties in equal measures: 1) acceptace 2) understanding 3) acceptance. Vera Nazarian

On black Recollections cardstock, stamped the Saxophone Musician (Rubbernecker) with Versafine Clair "Golden Meadow" stamp pad and heat embossed with Quietfire Design "Kell's Gold".

Wrote part of my text with a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. "Jazz" with the automatic pen from England and US Artquest Mica Color Metallic "Super Russet".

"Improvise" with Versafine Clair "Nocturne" stamp pad and Words & Crafts Magnetic Poetry Big Lower Case letters. Then drew my decorative shapes with a Uniball Signo gold gel pen. Colored each interior shape with the white gel pen and then with various colors of Sakura Metallic Gelly Roll pens.

On white Staples 110# cardstock wrote out the word "Improvise" with various colors of Bister ink and a flat edge #4 brush.

Rest of the text with a 1.5mm Parallel Pen and Sumi ink.

Shadowed with a Caran d'Ache graphite pencil #3B and blended with a paper stump.

Size: 7"h x 10"w

After seeing the results of Nancy Hayes Hills lettering I was so inspired to try something similar...  Hers was totally AWESOME...

On New Page Sterling Premium Digital 100# Glossy cardstock wrote out the word "improvise" using a Dreaming Dog "Leeloo" ruling pen and Holbein Gouache - a mix of Peacock and Geranium. When the word was written I then rewrote the word using Opera. Pressed a Scott paper towel over the wetness which dried the letters as well as leaving a nice textural image. Added a 5B graphite shadow line.

Wrote out the rest of the quote with a .02 Pigma pen.

Quote: Life is a lot like jazz. It's best when you improvise. George Gershwin

Couldn't resist doing another one in the style of Nancy Hayes Hill...

On New Page Sterling Premium Digital 100# Glossy cardstock wrote out the word "improvise" sprinkling Bister powder onto my cardstock using a Glitter Duster (yellow, red, green and blue) and a Dreaming Dog "Leeloo" ruling pen filled with water. When dry filled in the negative spaces with a Pentel Pocket pen, then added gold gel pen doodles. Wrote in the text with a 1.5 Parallel pen and Sumi ink.

ID: Wk 25 -  Bright Droplets
Size:  8.5"h x 8.5"w

On black Recollection cardstock painted my bamboo using Pan Pastels (Bright Yellow Green Tint and Chromium Oxide Green) double loaded using the rectangle tool. Wrote my text on some plain paper and then using the We R Memory hot foiling tool and gold foil traced and transferred my text. This tool is not as great as my Staedtler hot foil tool... but they don't make them anymore sigh!!

ID: Wk 25 - Haiku - Gentle Sway Of Breeze
Size: 8.5"h x 10"w

On black Recollection cardstock painted my bamboo using Pan Pastels (Bright Yellow Green Tint and Chromium Oxide Green) double loaded using the little triangular makeup sponge tool.

Text written with a Zebra G nib and Gansai Tambi Starry Colors "Blue Gold". Shadowed with a red Prisma Colored Pencil.

ID: Wk 25 - Haiku - Emerald Green Leaves
Size: 8.25"w x 7.5"h

Drew in the leaves and dragonfly with a Uniball Signo Gold gel pen on Staples 110# white cardstock. In the upper wings wrote out "Dragonfly" and added black dots with a Zig Writer. Colored with Prisma colored pencils.

Wrote out the haiku with Holbein "Olive Green" gouache using a Zebra G nib in a lettering style I saw on Waltzing Matilda's website. Added gold gel pen dots to each letter.

Haiku: Emerald Green Leaves ~ fluttering on the gentle breeze ~ dragonfly hovers. Cheryl Mary Coleman

ID: Wk 26 - Limitations - Flutter By 1 & 2
Size 1: 8"w x 5"h
Size 2: 8.5"w x 8"h

On Bee Deluxe Paper using b-0 nib and Sumi ink wrote out my word and the butterfly. When dry, protected the words and misted the butterfly with water. Used a b-3 nib for the cross bars and dots (Bleed Proof White).

On Staples 110# white cardstock used my We R Memories circle cutter but with a pencil to draw a large circle. Using the same nibs and ink as #1. Misted with water as #1.
