ID: wk 44 - Lest We Forget - Mandala
Size: 6"sq

Edmonton Calligraphy Society hosted Sally Towers Sybllis teaching Mandalas on ZOOM. Wonderful session. I decided to use the technique for my Scribbled Lives challenge this week...

Drew the circles with my Helix circle ruler on Bee Super Deluxe paper with a black Zig Writer. Painted with QoR watercolors and a yellow gold from my Gansai Tambi set.

ID: Wk 45 - Joy Harjo - A Map

I thought I'd keep this very simple... On Genoa bond paper and using a Prisma colored Pencil (Cool Grey 90%) in a pressure release Bookhand style lettering wrote out a portion of the poem.

Excerpt: Crucial to finding the way is this there is no beginning or end you must make your own map.

There are so many fabulous one liners - how do you choose...

On Genoa bond paper and using a 6,0 Parallel pen with Sumi ink, wrote out the word Houston in an extended lettering style and then the rest of the "one liner" with an Artistro red pen in monoline.

On Genoa Bond paper in Fraktur style using a 4.5 Parallel pen and Sumi ink wrote out the quote. Added the red line thru each letter with an Artistro extra fine red pen and added a shadow with an Artistro grey Brush Pen.

On Canson Colorline "Nut" cardstock wrote out the word "Elementary" using a Dreaming Dogs "Leeloo ruling pen and Holbien "Permanent White" gouache. Shadowed with a black Artistro grey Brush Pen. Wrote out the smaller text with a pointed nib.

ID: Wk 46 - Movie One Liners - Shut Up
Size: 7"w x 5.75"h

On Arches 90# HP watercolor paper, sprinkled with Bister powders (Yellow, Red & Brown) and using a 6.0 Parallel pen and water wrote out the one liner. Shadowed with an Caran d'Ache graphite pencil and paper stump.

The small green clutch was done with a geli print on Arches text wove paper.

The handbag was done on pearlized text weight paper painted with acrylics. Various quotes written in monoline using Artistro Extra Fine tipped acrylic pens.

Each bag done with a 6" square piece of paper and the finished bag size is 2"w x 1.5"h x .5" w at the base. I added a piece of Velcro to hold the flap closed and a decorative pink rhinestone.
