I'm continuing to practice my Italics and really enjoy the progress I've made... Barbara Close is a really good teacher. Our homework for this week was to use some color...
I'm working on Arches Text Wove paper. I double dipped my 4.5 Parallel pen into a red and yellow Holbien gouache, and did the smaller letters with a 2.4 Parallel pen and Sumi ink. I then added graphite shadow with a paper stump.
PS: I first wrote out the quote exactly in the size lettering I needed then used alight box to do the all the large letters first and then the smaller letters. This way I didn't have to change pens constantly. Makes life so much easier...
