I usually love challenges and this one is right up my alley. 

ID: Amethyst

This month's word challenge is all about colors... So I thought I'd try drawing the gemstone for that color.

On Canson Biggie c/p watercolor paper (smoother side) I laid a wet on wet application of Winsor &Newton watercolors. Sprinkled with coarse salt, let dry then added the exterior and black interior of the crystal. Wrote the word in an italic style with a 3.8 Parallel pen using Calligraphica Crystals in a lilac and a blue mix.

ID: Burnt Tiger's Eye

I drew the tiger's eye pendant and painted using Daniel Smith and Winsor and Newton watercolors on Canson Biggie watercolor paper (smoother side). Used a gold gel pen to add the chain and stone clasps. Added a coat of Glossy Accents and a graphite shadow.

Lettering done with a Zebra G pointed nib and watercolors in a Bookhand style.
