Mailing Due Date: Sept 13th, 2006
4.5"w x 4"h

I used Canson Mi-Teintes Pastel paper in a yellowish color. I found a tiger image I liked on the internet and used it as my sample. I drew it onto the pastel paper and colored it in with chalk pastels. I sprayed it with a couple coats of Crystal clear. I wrote the words "Tiger Tiger" following the outline of the tiger's face using a black micron pen.

I used my black mini pocket brush for the stem of the tree, and colored pencils for the rest.

I wrote out the poem by William Blake
"The Tiger"

Tiger, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night
what immortal hand or eye,
could frame thy fearful symmetry?

in what distant deeps or skies
burnt the fire of thine eyes?
on what wings dare he aspire?
what the hand dare seize the fire?

and what shoulder & what art
could twist the sinews of thy heart?
and when thy heat began to beat,
what dread hand and what dread feet?

what the hammer? what the chain?
in what furnace was thy brain?
what the anvil? what dread grasp
dare its deadly terrors clasp?

when the stars threw down their spears,
and water'd heaven with their fears,
did he smile his work to see?
did he who made the lamb make thee?

Tiger, tiger, burning bright
in the forests of the night,
what immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
