This week's challenge was to use tags in any way shape or form. I needed a couple thank you cards, so this is the first one.

Detail #1a

I took a watercolor Lettering class with Thomas Hoyer last weekend and thought I'd use his Versal lettering to create my word Thanx. I drew each letter onto a piece of 90# Arches HP Watercolor Paper adding the detail of the geometric shapes behind each letter, then outlined them with a black Zig marker. Dropped in Ecoline watercolors onto a wet surface and moved the colors around a bit. On some I added glitter or Pearlescent Medium to give it a bit of glitz and an orange rhinestone. Also used the Ecoline Gold, which is just fabulous. When dry I cut out each shape and adhered them to some punched out tags I made using my Sizzix Tag die and an olive kind of textured paper I recently picked up from Coast Paper. My main card is a beautiful yellow from the same paper line. The ribbon on the upper edge is made from the tissue paper I wipe my brush on. I always save my dirty paint stained tissue papers to use as backgrounds. They have such pizzazz. I separated the layers and glued the tissue to a piece of scrap yellow cardstock, then onto the card. Then I glued a medium width yellow satin ribbon on top of that. Then I glued the tags, positioning them as if they were hanging loose. I tied little yellow ribbons using a very thin ribbon and glued them to the holes of the tag. I rubber stamped the quote (Quietfire Design "Don't let yesterday") using Adirondacks Rainbow Dye ink pad "Autumn Sunset"
