This week's challenge was to use wings in any way shape or form. I had visited a friend the other day and we were playing with the DreamKuts and an Opus cutter to see what kind of edges we get and how many papers we could cut at one time and still have a straight edge, so while doing the experiment she made a few signatures for me and I added the Mayfair signatures. Well I figured I'd make a book that combines this week's CBH challenge.

There are 9 signatures of a combination of Grumbacher's Paper for Calligraphy and Mayfair cardstock. I also used some scrapbook paper to make a partial cover sheet for each signature. The covers are made from mat board and I covered them with some of my paste paper from last summer, (has a year almost gone by already?? sheesh). I cut out a large butterfly from the Harlequin Grungeboard. Painted it with Making Memories Specialty Glaze (Emerald, Ruby & Amethyst). The body was painted with Delta Acrylic paint "Brown Velvet" and a touch of the MM Ruby. I glued it to my covers with Golden's soft gel medium and added some long neck copper brads, just to make sure it was totally secure. I hade cut slits in the body to do my blanket stitch using a rust colored 4 ply waxed linen thread. Added a couple piece of Mizuhiki cord for the antennae. Wrote in the words "Butterfly Kisses" on the cover with a purple Zig marker.
