Valentines day
Accordion Card (closed) 4"h x 3.25"w
To decorated the front heart, I covered it with decorated tissue paper. I used my melt art mat and with the dipper from the distress bottles, I drew random lines and dots, without squeezing the dipper, (red brick, old paper & vintage photo), then misted both the mat and the tissue paper, moving the paper around until it was covered the way I wanted. I dried it with a hair dryer. Moving the tissue around created all kinds of creases and darker sections. Added the Peel Offs hearts and put a bit of rose glitter in one of them. I also used some mini rubber stamps the Heart Flourish and "Dream with your eyes" quote (Quietfire Design). Then gave the heart a good coat of Diamond Glaze. Rubber stamped the "Just for You" & "My Friend" (Kollette Hall value stamps) with Distress Walnut Ink and Gold detail embossing powder. NOTE: This is one of the designs on the Peel Offs "Birthday" sheet that have just been released and will be available around Jan 2008 to retail outlets, It comes in gold, silver, black, and white. There will also be "It's a Boy, It's a Girl", You're Invited" Congratulations" "Thanks & "Love". Two more will be coming out later in the year I think. |

I used my melt art mat again and the same technique as above for each heart. Since this is thicker paper, no wrinkles. I then cut a piece of "Cut n Stamp" felt and inked it with some walnut ink for the edges of the hearts. I cut a piece of "Cut n Stamp" foam and put some Essential Glue on it, then swiped it on the edges of the hearts where I had just done the walnut ink. Stuck on Gold leaf. Each heart has a letter for the word "Valentine's" done using Italic Caps alphabet set (Quietfire Design) done in Red Brick and clear embossed. The word "Happy" is from my Peel Offs and the word "Day" is Magenta Peel Off's. I then gave each heart a thin coat of Diamond Glaze. |
I used a 1" wide Rollagraph stamp (Chinese Noodles) and the Red Brick stamp pad, then clear embossed it along the top and bottom borders. I love that noodle stamp. I then adhered my hearts and trimmed any excess white sections. Used the alphabet stamps again but with Permanent ink on top of the previous stamped image but slightly over, so the red image below is still visible.
