Dec 18, 2007 - Tyvek "BD #2"

Birthday  Card  4. 5"h x 7"w
I really like using Tyvek
(Quietfire Design) to create unusual textures.

I took a piece about 4 x 6", scrunched it up several times, spritzed it with some water, and applied Magic Colors liquid acrylics (Quietfire Design) randomly on the paper. I used Chiffon Green, Gamma Green, Aqua Blue and Earth Brown, then spritzed a bit more water and blotted most of it up with a paper towel (keep the paper towel or tissue paper to use for something else). When dry, I ran a pigmented pad over the whole page and sprinkled Pearl embossing powder. Scrunched up the page again, which cracked the embossed areas. I then painted Moon Palace sumi ink all over the page getting it into the creases, then wiped off the excess. See pics below for the before and after thermal embossing. Both pics are from the same section of the paper.

I cut 1" strips for the top and bottom design and adhered it to silver duct tape using Terrifically tacky tape (Quietfire Design). Rubber stamped the quote (Quietfire Design "The longest journey") with Versa Mark Dew Drops stamp pad "Ocean Depth" and stamped directly onto the main aqua cardstock.

Used Peel Offs Happy Birthday in black.

NOTE: This is one of the designs on the Peel Offs "Birthday" sheet that have just been released and will be available around Jan 2008 to retail outlets, It comes in gold, silver, black, and white. There will also be "It's a Boy, It's a Girl", You're Invited" Congratulations" "Thanks & "Love". Two more will be coming out later in the year I think.
