Dec 11, 2007 - Rubber Stamp Alphabets

Get Well Card  5.5"w x 7"h (opens to 11.5")
I started out taking my largest acrylic block and arranging Suzanne's Italic alphabets
(Quietfire Design) both miniscule and caps all over it and in every direction. Stamped a piece of Arches 90lb HP watercolor paper and clear embossed it. Used regular watercolors wet on wet (Winsor & Newton) in various colors (Naples Yellow, Gambouge Hue, Antwerp Blue, and olive green and a reddish brown). Let that dry completely, then put between newsprint and ironed off the clear embossing. See pic at bottom of page to see the full piece I made and then cut up for the card. I increased the contrast a bit so you can see the contrast between background and letters. In reality it's a beautifully soft background with just enough contrast to it.

I rubber stamped the Italics Caps letters with black and black embossing powder then cut out the diamond shape using (Evo's) "Thangs" (love it). Also cut out a background diamond from purple metallic cardstock. Finished off each word with a black micron pen.

Cut and folded my Canson Mi-Tientes maroon cardstock gate fold style. Adhered a piece of pale pink Bazzill Monochromatic cardstock to each front section. Glued on my Diamond shapes and added a couple of Peel Off stickers.

On the inside, I rubber stamped the teapot & cup ((GG Design) TeaPot/Cup) with black and black embossing powder from the same background piece of paper. Put a heavy coat of Glossy accents on most of it and a bit of Antique Finish Liquid Embossing on the rest (very subtle difference). Cut it out and adhered it to the card. Wrote the quote using Moon Palace sumi ink (I wanted bright yellow but nothing worked right) and used my Nikko G nib. My soapstone pencil was invaluable for getting my writing on a straight line.  Used colored pencils for the stream of tea.
