"Stitching - Comfort"  card
Size: 5"w x 7"h

.

A friend needed a sympathy card and this one evolved. Hope she has lots of good memories to fall back on.

The quote is from Quietfire Design.

I love these extra large background stamps from Harmonie (5.25" x 8.25"), this lace one is just beautiful. I stamped it with Brilliance white and embossed with detail white on a burgundy cardstock. Cut it down to size and used a distresser on the edges.

Die cut the Spellbinders Polka Dot Frameability frame from cream toned cardstock, ran it through again to dry emboss, sponged various Distress mauves, spritzed water on my craft sheet and smooshed the frame in the wetness, then dried it. Put it back in the die and sponged more color so the dots would pop.

Stamped the quote with Versafine Vintage Sepia on cream toned cardstock and clear embossed it. Adhered it to the back of the frame. Adhered that on an angle to the lace background.

Attached a small gold heart charm with a gold brad.

I happened to see crêpe paper sewn and bunched up on this blog (www.2gypsygirls.com) and thought what a great idea. I have a whole role of this stuff. So cut off a piece about 2"w x 20" long (it stretches, and mine ended up being about 30" after the coloring...). I used Color Wash and Moon Glows in mauve/burgundy tones, then spritzed with some water to let it bleed. Dried with a hairdryer. Then sewed down the middle with a basting length stitch. Gathered it together and adhered it to my lace background, cutting off the extra length.

Adhered a white ruffled ribbon and then a burgundy picot edged ribbon on top of the crêpe - adhering everything to the back of the lace card. Then adhered it to the main cream toned card.

Die cut 3 medium and 3 small hearts using a Spellbinders Classic Hearts Nestabilities set from cream cardstock, ran thru again to dry emboss then sponged with mauves and purple. Arranged them on a punched out circle to form a floral design. Punched out a medallion circle, painted it with some purple and clear embossed it. Added the floral patterned pearl button with some mauve cord.
