"Vintage - Hope Perches" card This weeks theme is the Vintage I just got this stamp image of the lady - you know I don't do people - but I thought she was a beautiful image and couldn't resist... (Stampendous "Deco Lady #CRP118). I also won a set of Spellbinders Wonky Reverse rectangles and wanted to use them too. And then I also got a batch of some of the other new Spellbinders and used the Parisian Accents and Floral Doily Motifs for this card. The quote is from Quietfire Design. |
I sprayed my cream toned
card with spray adhesive and lay down a piece of tissue paper (Kleenex
brand) that I had sprayed with various greens (Distress) and
iridescent/Perfect Pearls combinations. Doesn't show up in the image,
but it has a beautiful soft shimmer to it. Trimmed off the excess. Threaded a variegated metallic thread and did a blanket stitch around the card, first using Tim's ruler to pierce holes equidistant from each other and along a straight line (BIG GRIN). Stamped the lady with Versafine Black Onyx, clear embossed and colored with some pearlescent watercolors. Die cut with the Wonky rectangles, sponged some Scattered Straw to tone down the white cardstock. Adhered to my card. Added the mini pale blue stars and silver Stickles in that black area. Die cut the long border from the Parisian Accents set, sponged with the Frayed Burlap, clear embossed, then went over everything with the Straw. Adhered it to the card overlapping the wonky rectangle slightly. Took a piece of pink spotted ribbon and ruffled it "wonkily" on a piece of double sided tape, adhered to card over the border piece. Adhered a piece of olive toned lace under the ruffle and off the edge of the card. Die cut the flower piece from the Floral Doily set, sponged with Worn Lipstick, clear embossed then went over it with the Straw, cut it either in half or at an angle to fit along the wonky rectangle. Die cut the purple silk flower (Tim's Sizzix "Tattered Flower" die), added a vein with the silver Stickles and sewed on the button made from Air Dry Polymer Clay by Lumina, and painted with Perfect Pearls gold. |

The flourish is also made from Lumina and painted with green perfect Pearls and gold half pearls added. Butterfly is punched out (Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page "Monarch Butterfly") from some left over paper on my desk and cut off from the border. The quote is stamped on white cardstock with the black. I used my rubber mallet to cut out the oval (oval die set) and the fancy detail on either end with the Parisian Accents die. I sponged the ends with the Burlap and clear embossed, then sponged the oval with the straw, masking the appropriate areas. I used pop dots to have it stand off of the card. |
