"Hot Hot Banana Peppers" card One of the first things that came to mind when I saw both the words Hot, Hot, Hot and the color Yellow were Banana Peppers. I'm not a fan of hot peppers, but they sure look pretty. I wasn't sure of what banana peppers even looked like, so I had to Google them. I drew them free hand onto my card. I then gave them an undercoating with Derwent Inktense colored pencils, first with Sunny Yellow on all three peppers, applied my water wash to set the color. Then used the colors for each individual pepper, setting that color with water. I then finished them off with accents and a layer of Prisma colors, blending with my Lyra Splender blender giving them the waxy coating look. Love them... Wrote in my words with a Zig Writer. I then used my Derwents again, putting in a layer of a nice purple for the background and setting it with water. Used a Squeeze and Roll glue pen and Ritz Micro Fine Glitter in red and gold, blending the two to give that "hot" feel to them. Rubber stamped my sentiment "My Friend" (Quietfire Design), with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. I love the way the peppers pop off the page. |
