This triptych also covers a few other
challenges: I picked up this border mold for polymer clay by Lisa Pavelka. Has 4 border impressions on it, Bamboo, Floral, Leaves & Tree Bark. So I pressed my paper clay into it and let it dry over night. It was still slightly damp this morning, but continued to dry it with a hair dryer. They turned out really well. So will cast a bunch more. BIG GRIN. Sponged either Distress inks on them or rubbed some Metallic Rub Ons. Since these were for Earth Day, I thought I'd go a little Oriental and used words that reflect the feeling of Earth Day. I believe you need harmony in nature and our lives, courage to stand up for what you believe, and respect for everything around you. The birds I cut our with my Cricut the other day from some black cardstock, then inked up with Perfect Medium and sprinkled various colors of embossing powder. The Oriental words are from Sunday International Kanji stamps. |

Rubber stamped the bamboo sprig with Distress Forest Moss on baby blue cardstock. Adhered my paper clay piece. Cut out and adhered some bamboo leaves from some Distress decorated paper. Rubber stamped and embossed the Oriental character with Versafine Spanish Moss and clear embossed it. Mounted this to a dark forest green cardstock. Adhered my bird. |
Punched out the screen shape with a Fiskar's Greek border punch, doing both sides, from some beige cardstock. I then sponged Distress stamp pad Frayed Burlap over it. Adhered this to a baby pink cardstock. Adhered my floral paper clay piece. Punched some Sakura flowers from Faux batik blue paper I had made a while back. Added various faux rhinestones. Rubber stamped the Oriental character with Versafine Deep Lagoon and clear embossed it. Mounted this to an Olive cardstock. Adhered my bird. |
Punched out the Hydrangea border using the Martha Stewart border punch from the faux batik blue paper. Adhered this to Distressed green background cardstock I made the other day. Adhered my leaves piece. Added rhinestones to some of the flower centers. Rubber stamped the Oriental character with Versafine Deep Lagoon and clear embossed it. Mounted this to a dark forest green cardstock cardstock. Adhered my bird. |
