"CBH July 21 - Stars -
If I Had A Star Card"
The circles are punched out using my Sizzix circle #2 die. They are basically Distress stamp pads on a melt art mat (Craft Sheet), misted with water, and cardstock smooshed around in it and dried. Some have Perfect Gold Perfect Pearls powders added to the wet mix. Some have rubber stamped images (Quietfire Design "Flourishes") gold embossed. |
The stars are another technique, by combining several techniques and adding my twist. I used a Sizzix stars die and punched out of 110# CS. Applied a heavy coating of Distress stamp pad using a sponging tool, Shabby Shutters and edged with Broken China. Perfect Gold Perfect Pearls brushed all over. Dropped the water, let them do their work for a couple minutes, then lay a piece of paper towel to absorb some moisture, then heat set. I used Perfect Medium (but any clear embossing pad will work) and clear embossing powder and heat set. Then I touched the edges again with sponge tool and Broken China. |

Normally when water is applied to dye inks it moves the color to the edges creating a hard edge and a darker rim of color which I love. Doing the water drops after the Perfect Pearls were applied, moves the Perfect Pearls to the edges of the water drops as well as creating fascinating glows. Mounted everything to a dark blue cardstock to mimic the sky. Rubber stamped the quote (also from Quietfire Design) and embossed with Queen's Gold. Then mounted this to a cream toned cardstock. |
