"CBH Aug 4 - Pets -
Koi Cards"
I dropped a few drops of Ecoline Inks onto my melt art mat (Deep Yellow, Deep orange, Carmine & Burnt Sienna) and misted the mat, also misted the Arches Text Wove paper very lightly. You can see the bleed that happened in the detail pic below. I liked the effect but I wanted a more defined look, so for the Koi/Gold and Koi/Green, the paper was not misted. For the Koi Gold I added some gold to my mat. For the Koi Green I added some light green to the mat. |
I made a couple masks of the Koi from some tracing paper and lay it over the fish while I rubber stamped the large flourishes (Quietfire Design ) and gold embossed them. The "Thinking of You" also Quietfire Design, was rubber stamped with Vintage Sepia and a touch of the gold embossing powder. And now I used my Cricut to cut out the label holder from the same reddish brown cardstock and just the right size for my sentiment word "My Friend" which was stamped on a separate piece of paper with Black Onyx stamp pad and then attached with brass toned brads. I cut the text wove paper down to size, edged it with a gold Krylon leafing pen and mounted it to the reddish brown Bazzill Monochrom cardstock. |

The next two cards, the koi were done on cream toned Stonehenge cardstock. They also had some Perfect Pearls "Perfect Copper" sprinkled on the wet ink. I defined the body of the fish with a Pitt med grey brush pen. The label was done with a gold metallic cardstock and the sentiment rubber stamped onto a swirl patterned vellum in black and clear embossed. Also edged with the Krylon pen and mounted to the gold metallic cardstock which was then mounted to a cream toned card. |

The flourishes were stamped with Moss Green and clear embossed. I defined the body of the fish with a Pitt med grey brush pen. It also had some Perfect Pearls "Perfect Copper" sprinkled on the wet ink. Edged with the Krylon pen and "Thinking of You" is rubber stamped onto a bamboo print stationary paper on the inside of the card. (The result of a mistake. I didn't like the color of ink I used for the sentiment, over stamped it with another color and ruined it, so it was either ditch the card or do this to it...) |
