These all start with some single pane glass I cut from my stash of glass. They were all cut to a touch past 1" by a touch passed 2.75" and ( the width of the ruler I was using and the thickness from the edge of my cutter), after the technique are then sandwiched, copper foiled, soldered, cleaned, patina of copper or black or left natural silver color, then waxed. A piece of coordinating mat board, rubber stamped with the same image as on the glass, window cut out and edges colored with either a silver or gold Krylon leafing pen, Pan Pastels or left the core color of the mat board. Four 1/16" holes are punched, mini eyelet brads (silver, gold or copper) are inserted and 2 ply waxed linen thread used to hold the glass suspended.

The technique: do an alcohol treatment to the glass, pouncing colors with your felt tool (PS I didn't bother changing the felt between colors, so the combinations below will be altered by my previous pounces). Let dry a couple minutes then rubber stamp an image (not words or faces) with the Archival Permanent Black stamp pad and immediately wipe off the ink with a soft cloth. There is a reaction with the black ink and the alcohol ink, removing most of the alcohol color and leaving a ghost of an image. You need to work very quickly, otherwise the permanent ink will remain black if not rubbed off right away. Note: something Tim didn't mention was not to do more than one at a time... Experience taught me that doing several at one time (to supposedly save time) doesn't work. By the time you get to the first alcohol inked piece of glass, it's too dry and the permanent ink doesn't react as well. The pics below don't do them justice. When held up to the light, they are beautiful. I've listed the color combinations I used under each ATC.

All word stamps are from Quietfire Design (some words I scavenged from her quotes) and Staz On Opaque White stamp pad.
