Since I did dragonfly quilled ATCs I figured I better do some Butterfly ATCs. And this week's CBH Challenge was to use a "Love Quote" - so one of these butterflies also has a Quietfire Design Love Quote on it. The are all mounted to a Pearlized Metallic white cardstock. The 1st butterfly is the CBH Challenge ATC with the smallest version of a butterfly. I added some Glitter Ritz in some of the open cells in gold and red. Added the yellow stamen for antennae. It's done with silver and copper quilling strips. I punched out the Heart (Sizzix die) and the flowers (EK Success punch) from some gold embossed red mulberry paper. Added a white pearlized center and tehn a yellow Stickles dot. The quote was rubber stamped with Versafine Black Onyx. (I think it's my favorite of the butterflies... The 2nd butterfly is done with pink strips and the outer portion with the gold embossed red paper., black body and pearlized cream toned antennae. The words are done with a micron pen. The 3rd butterfly is done with yellow strips and a gold embossed yellow paper, copper body and pearlized cream toned red dot antennae. The 2 hearts are punched out (Sizzix) from Bazzill Monochromatic red cardstock.. Words done with a micron pen. The 4th butterfly is a labour intensive one and is the first one I did... Lots of coils inside the husked shape in yellow, flesh tone, & red, husked in copper with a black body and pearlized cream toned antennae. The heart stick above the ATC size. The word is done with a micron pen. |

Another week's batch of "Valentine" related ATCs. This week's (Jan 27th) CBH Challenge is to use the color "Red or Pink" CBH Challenge. I went to a another quilling class and learnt the "husking" technique. Very easy and lots of potential. The 1st dragonfly is done with your basic quill strips in a burgundy tone which I embellished with "warm highlights" Ritz Glitter. The eyes are enhanced with Stickles "Crystal ice". The white heart is a pearlized white paper which I punched out with a Sizzix die and then punched small holes around the edge. Rubber stamped the "Dragonfly" word (Quietfire design) with Versamark and added the word "heart". Done on a deep pink cardstock and then mounted to a purple cardstock. The 2nd dragonfly is done with strips of Oriental Paper that I double layered prior to cutting into strips. Punched out the flowers from some decorated paper I had made eons ago. Same heart paper as above. The word "Love" (Quietfire Design) is double stamped, once with a Versa Magic stamp pad Pumpkin and then with Olive Green. Done on med toned green cardstock then mounted to orange cardstock. The eyes as above and the centers of the flower with a Stickles Yellow. The 3rd dragonfly is done with another Oriental paper also doubled up before cutting into strips. This one's a red with gold Sakura flowers. I ran a wide glue stick over the wings and sprinkles gold Ritz Glitter. Added the words with a Micron pen. Punched out the heart with the same Oriental paper. Done on gold irridescent cardstock then mounted to a bright red. Same eyes as above. |

I decided to combine this week's Created By Hand Challenge of "Love" with Paper Pastimes February Theme of "Love/Romance". And again for the color "Red or Pink" for this weeks (Jan 27th) CBH Challenge. The "crackle" ATC's use Ranger's Metallic Crackle paint "Brushed Pewter" and on some I used alcohol inks to color the silver color. On the "Mystery" ATC I painted some crackle paint onto my melt art mat and got this interesting pattern. It pulled away from the slick surface of the melt art mat creating interesting tentacles which I glued onto my ATC using Golden's extra heavy gel medium. The hearts (mat board) are punched out with a Sizzix die and the word LOVE (Zyroned cardstock) is a Sizzlets die, both punched with my Cuttlebug. On the Ritz Glitter ATC's I punched out and applied masks or cut away the release paper. Abbreviations: BM - Bazzill Monochromatic cardstock, |

I used the 2.5" wide Sookwang tape and with an x-acto knife carefully cut lines in the release paper layer only. Removed them one at a time to lay my glitter on. Wrote the words with a micron pen. This is done on a double layer of white cardstock. words: "Give it to me straight. Do you love me?" |

This is another done with the 2.5" tape and the word "Love" cut out of the release paper, sprinkled with a Bronze Ritz glitter and then the rest of the release paper removed and sprinkled with 3 colors of glitter. The words "me tender" is done with a Sharpie. I added some gold Peel Offs on the crackled heart. Mounted it to a gold metallic cardstock. |
Just picked up this new clear alphabet set from Inkadinkado "Doodle #97730" to rubber stamp the word "Love" in gold and Queen's Gold embossing powder on a med toned pink BM. Mounted it to the deep grey linen cardstock. The words "me tonight" done with a micron. |
I punched out the curlicues (Spellbinders Borderabilites #S7 004) from some pink textured cardstock, then shaded it with some distress pads and a Versafine pad (Vintage Sepia). Cut out sections of it to glue to the ATC. Rubber stamped the word "Love" (Quietfire Design) with the same stamp pad. Added the white dots with a Ranger's Inkssentials pen. Mounted it to a deep brown cardstock. |

Again I used the 2.5 wide tape. Stuck on the plastic letters for LOVE, then stuck on punched out release paper hearts all over, removing them as required for each color. This was done on doubled white cardstock. |
Used the very very thin tape for the border and the word love. Attached a white brad that I colored with a sharpie and then with a stardust gel pen. Added my words with a micron pen. Mounted it to a deep red BM |
Another 2.5" taped ATC. Punched out some small hearts and the heart/love from release paper and stuck it to the ATC. The ones on the left is the shiny side of the release paper (I accidentally stuck the wrong side down BIG GRIN) and the ones on the right have a warm highlight sprinkled on them. Punched out the buckle Love heart from some red vellum and threaded it with a BM white and wrote my words with a micron. |
