Saturday Workout - Silver - Triptych (July/09)
Created: July 5, 2009
Modified: April 9, 2010
Over at Saturday Workout the challenge this week is to use silver metal or tape. I had fun doing distressing on silver and copper metal the past few days, so thought I'd whip a few ATCs with them for this challenge. Each of the silver distressed pieces are from the same strip. It's a light weight silver on one side brass on the other. I used the silver side, embossed the design using my Cuttlebug and a floral border embossing folder, spread a thin layer of Rheotech gesso, leaving spots of silver. When dry layered glazes of acrylic metallic craft paints. The background cardstock is colored with Pan pastels, then either a thick or thin curve of a Zig glue stick, and variegated leafing. The metal piece is adhered using Golden's extra heavy gel medium and then I also added a color round brad. Mounted each to a deep purple cardstock. Each of the quotes is a rubber stamp from Quietfire Design which I stamped using versafine stamp pad either Olympia Green or Imperial Purple. I then punched out daisy like florets, using a Marvy small punch, from some hand made marble paper I made a while back. Added a Stickles center in deep rose to each. |
