Molds  (October 2007)

I recently purchased some molds from After Midnight Art Stamps and really love them. They've got a really good  rigidity to them while being extremely flexible, and nothing sticks to them, and they go into the oven too. Need to get more of them.

This one starts of with my Ink Splots bakground.

I  started out with white glossy cardstock (but it works on watercolor paper and regular cardstock but doesn't have the glossy look to it). I used Magic Color acrylic ink (Quietfire Design) in a blue, aqua and fuchsia color. Using the eyedropper, dropped one splotch to my cardstock, then immediately spritzed with some water and watched the color spread and diffuse.  Continued dropping splotches and spritzing until I was happy with the look of my paper. Let it dry thoroughly.

The face is done with "Porcelain" putting some variegated gold leaf in the mold first and a touch of pearl ex.  When dry I brushed a bit of Diamond Glaze over the surface. It's mounted to a piece of negative frame Colored with Distress "Faded Jeans" and clear embossed. The words "Where the wind blows" is written with my white mixture of ink and my favorite script type nib. Mounted to dark blue Bazill monochromatic cardstock and a thin border of gold gel pen.

This one starts of with a very pale Bazill monochromatic cardstock run through the Cuttlebug with "Traffic Jam" embossing folder. Skimmed over the high points with a silver Color Box Petal point stamp pad and embossed with Aegean Silver.  The face was done with Premo Pearl White and the rest with a left over mix of various brands of greys with gold leaf running through it. The word "Wonder" was rubber stamped (Just Jhones - Attic Treasures) and copper embossing powder. Mounted to Black cardstock.

Same as "Wonder" but high points done with Copper embossing powder and one square cut out.  The African face was done with the same grey mix as "Wonder". It's got more of a marbled look to it. The words "Beyond our Walls" was punched out using my Sizzlets Alphabet die and orange textured cardstock.  Mounted to Dessert Sun Bazzil monochromatic cardstock.
