MC - Triptych - High heel Shoes April 2010
Created: April 4, 2010

I bought this stamp set (Hero Arts "High Heels" #CL303) this past Thursday and just love it. I've already made a card with it and now have used the other 3 shoes for this triptych. I needed some ATC for the swap coming up this week, so I figured combine the challenges and what I need - BIG GRIN. A match made in heaven. Each ATC is good for one or more blog challenges as well. I also used Shrink plastic (pre sanded type) for each of the shoes. I don't know if any of you have experienced this, but sometimes when I stamp on shrink plastic, I get a disgusting mess. I hate using Staz-On, so I usually use Versafine. It doesn't dry... Anyway, I had a few messes still attached to my main sheet, and I cut them off and was going to throw them away. What a waste. So I decided to really sand it down to remove the previous stamping and then see what would happen. I was pleasantly pleased, and it made a much better surface than was previously there. My colored pencils also worked better on it. |
Aren't these shoes gorgeous - Sigh - if only I was young enough to still wear them. |

This was for a weird combination of
colors on
Frosted Designs ( Lime Green, Hot Pink &
Black). I must admit when I was putting my colors of cardstock next to
each other, I was really liking the combo. PS, I don't know what color
you're actually seeing, but it is a really nice hot pink.
It's also good for Our Creative Corner with a theme of Buttons. And S2G Challenges which also has #49 Buttons for a theme. Used Gel pens to color the shoe, colored pencils for the background area. The quote is part of the stamp set. Edged the square after baking with a Krylon Gold Leafing pen. I added a black line on the material button to mimic the color combo. Also colored the white sewing lines on the ribbon with a black marker. Ran the cardstock through my Cuttlebug with a Sizzix dot pattern (it's slightly larger dots than the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots) |

This ATC was for
ABC Challenge Blog and the theme was R
is for Red. It's also for
The Sweet Shop with a sketch theme
#SSS50. And for
All Sorts Challenge #46 no ready made
designer papers.
I showed a friend how to do the Faux Batik background yesterday, so we made lots of it. This is one from my stash using (Worn Lipstick, Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany & Forest Moss). The full sheet looks glorious. I cut the shrink plastic with a Spellbinder's scalloped Oval, colored in the shoe with colored pencils and also edged the scallop with same. Die cut another scalloped oval in white cardstock. The word Paris is a Quietfire Design rubber stamp. Added the lady bug brad. |

This last ATC was for
Lots To Do challenge with a theme of
Black & White.
I colored the shoe with a Sakura white Soufflé pen in the stripes. The heel with a black gel pen and sprinkled Ritz micro fine glitter "Cool Highlights", the bow with the black Soufflé and sprinkled black glitter. Edged the square after baking with a black marker. Added a Velvet white ribbon and then a patterned black/white ribbon on top. Added some faux black rhinestones on the centers of the flocked flower paper. Embossed the black cardstock with a Sizzix folder (Lines & Circles) |
