ATC A Month - Themes Blue or Oriental (Chinese/Japanese) (September 2007)

"InkSplots"

I  started out with white glossy cardstock (but it works on watercolor paper and regular cardstock but doesn't have the glossy look to it). I used Magic Color acrylic ink (Quietfire Design) in a blue, aqua and fuchsia color. Using the eyedropper, dropped one splotch to my cardstock, then immediately spritzed with some water and watched the color spread and diffuse.  Continued dropping splotches and spritzing until I was happy with the look of my paper. Let it dry thoroughly.

Stamps: Ladies Face, flower sprig, Asian design and oriental word stamp (Inkadinkado 13 pce Asian set), Asian lady (Lost Angels Rubber Works "Ukiyo-e woman"), Asian words Michael's Asian background stamp. Chinese Chop (Says Chinese Calligraphy). Word "Art" Ma Vincis's Reliquary. 3 D woman's face, (After Midnight mold #281)

Stamped the face on vellum with Distress "Black Soot", cut out and stuck to ATC. The  flower sprig with Color Box blue stamp pad and Sapphire embossing powder, the Asian words with Distress "Walnut Ink" and clear embossed a rectangular shape. Punched corner notches and strung a piece of gold thread. Mounted to fuchsia cardstock then to a med. blue cardstock.

The next two ATC's use the tissue I used to wipe up the ink from the glossy paper. When I looked at it, I couldn't throw it away. So I glued it to a piece of white cardstock, creases and all.

Rubber stamped the lady and Asian words with Distress "Black Soot". The chop with VersaMark Red chalk stamp pad. Mounted to dark blue Bazill Monochromatic cardstock.

Rubber stamped the lady and Asian words with Distress "Black Soot". The Floral sprig with gold and gold embossing powder. The 3D element is shrink plastic that started out round, but ended up oval shaped. Stamped on melt art mat with Distress "Black Soot" then pressed the transparent shrink plastic onto the mat, colored in with Lyra Metallic Super Ferby. Mounted to purple cardstock.

Used a piece of thin wire, sequin pieces and mini beads. The glass glob has a piece of my marbled paper under it and I used transparent shrink plastic for the word Art. Wrote in my quote with a black micorn pen. Mounted it to bright green cardstock.

I used my Sizzix rectangle frame die set for the next 2 ATC's. Focus used mat board, and "DreamFence" used the ink splots cardstock.

I colored the larger frame with a metallic blue pen and the smaller frame with a Zig marker,  then thermal embossed them with various products (UTEE "Pearl", White Gold, Suze's mica pieces, and sprinkled some blue glitter. Used my Sizzix dies for the large letters in various colors. Added the oval rhinestone. Mounted onto dark blue monochromatic Bazill cardstock.

Started with dark blue Bazill monochromatic cardstock. Used the negative and positive portions of the frames and used some dark blue ones as well. The word "Dream" (hard to see, top rectangle) is done on opaque shrink plastic using 3 colors of chalk stamp pads (blue, light green & violet). Added the other words with a gold gel pen.

Words: Don't fence me in.

The next 2 ATC's use Evo's ATC Thangs templates. One uses the negative portions the other the positive portions. Both are mounted to dark blue monochromatic Bazill cardstock.

I used my pasta machine to cut strips from various decorative papers. The light cardstock is colored with a perfect medium stamp pad and then decorative chalks. Wove them into the two frames, along with some blue metallic thread and a gold wire thread. Added the word "Art" on a piece of shrink plastic using chalk stamp pads.

I decided to glue the frame sections of kilter to a dark blue metallic origami paper glued to dark blue cardstock. I made the 3D element with various UTEE embossing powders (bronze, pearl and clear). Wrote the quote with a black micron pen.
